The Engine
Chevrolet has equipped the 2023 Malibu with a powerful 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. This design delivers 160 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft of torque.
The vehicle averages 27 miles to the gallon in the city. It achieves an average of 35 miles to the gallon on the highway.
The Trim Levels
Drivers can choose from four different trim levels. Every trim level comes with the same engine and six Chevy safety assist features as standard. The RS comes with more exterior features, like bowtie emblems and dual exhaust outlets.
The LT trim level comes with heated front seats for the driver and passenger. The 2LT trim level comes with navigation, 19-inch aluminum wheels, and a six-way passenger seat.
The Special Editions
The LT and 2LT trim levels also include the option to upgrade to three different special editions. These are called the Sport Edition, Redline Edition, and Midnight Edition. These special editions come with sleek, unique exterior designs.
For example, the Redline Edition comes with black bowtie emblems on the front and rear of the vehicle. This edition also includes 19-inch black-painted aluminum wheels and a blacked-out grille. It also includes black outside mirrors that come with special Redline decals.
The Color Choices
If you choose the Midnight Edition, your model will be in the mosaic black metallic exterior color. Otherwise, drivers can choose from a total of seven colors.
Beyond the mosaic black metallic, there is a mineral gray metallic and summit white. Additionally, there is a dark ash metallic, radiant red tint coat, or riverside blue metallic. Drivers can also choose a sterling gray metallic.
The Advanced Safety Assist
This model comes with Chevy Safety Assist as a standard feature. This technology includes six safety assistive features. The first is a lane keep assist paired with a lane departure warning. Then there is a forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, and automatic emergency braking.
A following distance indicator and IntelliBeam are also included. Drivers also have the option to upgrade to the available driver confidence package that comes with even more features. These include a rear park assist, lane change alert, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Infotainment
The base-level Malibu comes with an 8-inch diagonal touchscreen display. This display includes voice command, Bluetooth for two active devices at once, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. There is also available Alexa built-in.
